ANY MEMBER WHO IS INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING AS A LOCAL VICE PRESIDENT NOMINEE MUST ATTEND THIS MEETING AND MAKE THEIR INTENTIONS KNOWN. A national funding crisis is bearing down on transit riders and the men and women who operate and maintain transportation systems. As the featured report from NBC News makes clear, the economic recession is devastating mass transit systems – at the same time as large numbers of unemployed and under-employed Americans need mobility to find jobs. ATTENTION NEW UNION MEMBERS:

In order to be processed into the United Transporation Union Local 1440, you must fill out a "Application for Membership Form" and a "Authorization for Dues Deductions Form". You will be able to retrieve these froms from Treasurer/Secretary Vincent LaBella.

The Local has developed a "New Member Package" for all new members, it contains a welcoming letter from the Local 1440 President, a UTU Traveling card, our General and Local By-Laws and all forms assoicated with enrollment into the union.
